It's Watoto's World!
On Sunday 14th June 2026, Romford Elim Church was blessed to welcome the Watoto Choir for a truly memorable evening of worship, music, and inspiring testimony.
From the moment they stepped onto the stage, the choir’s energy was infectious. Their enthusiasm, joy, and passion captivated everyone in attendance and created an atmosphere filled with celebration and hope. It quickly became clear that this was much more than a performance; it was a powerful expression of faith and a testimony to the life-changing work being carried out through Watoto.
The commitment of the choir members to both their cause and their presentation was evident throughout the event. Every song and dance routine was performed with remarkable precision. Their timing was impeccable, their rhythm never missed a beat, and every movement appeared carefully rehearsed. Despite the complexity of the production, stage transitions were seamless and almost invisible, allowing the audience to remain fully engaged in the story being told.
The production itself was beautifully simple yet highly effective. Accompanied by a talented drummer and bassist who also played the keyboard, the music was delivered with excellence and passion. Their musicianship was outstanding, but what stood out even more was the genuine love and enthusiasm they brought to every moment of the show. Their passion was evident in every note played and contributed greatly to the uplifting atmosphere of the evening.
What made the event particularly impactful was the way the performance combined live music, dance, personal narratives, and cinematic video content. Together, these elements painted a compelling picture of the Watoto ministry and the lives that have been transformed through its work. The audience was taken on a journey that was both emotionally moving and deeply encouraging.
Throughout the service, the choir worshipped the Lord with sincerity and joy. Their faith shone through every song, reminding us that worship is not merely something we do but an expression of gratitude, hope, and devotion.
Perhaps the most powerful aspect of the evening was hearing the stories behind the performers. Many members of the choir were once abandoned by one or both parents and faced uncertain futures. Through the work of Watoto, they were welcomed into a loving community, given care, education, support, and the opportunity to flourish. Their presence on stage stood as a living testimony to God’s faithfulness and the impact that compassion can have on a child’s life.
Visitors were also given the opportunity to support the ministry directly. Information was available about sponsoring a Watoto child, allowing people to play a part in transforming lives and providing hope for future generations.
In addition, the team offered a range of handmade merchandise, including toys, jewellery, bags, and keyrings. They also sold Watoto-branded T-shirts and hoodies, helping to raise awareness of the ministry while providing practical support for its ongoing work.
We are incredibly grateful to the Watoto Choir for visiting Romford Elim Church. Their talent, dedication, faith, and inspiring stories left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. We pray God’s continued blessing upon their ministry as they bring hope, faith, and joy to communities around the world.
Many of the children in Watoto were abandoned by on or often both parents.
