Find Jesus

How do I become a Christian?

The Bible says "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved" (Acts 16:31). If you are ready to exercise that belief then pray this simple prayer of commitment to Jesus Christ thoughtfully to Him and begin your Christian walk.

“Lord Jesus I believe in you. I admit that I have sinned and come short of your standards. I realise that my sin separates me from you. I understand that you died on the cross to pay the price for my wrongs. Thank you for loving me so much. I turn from my sin and ask you to come into my heart and forgive me, make me clean again and give me a new start. Now give me strength to follow you from now on through the good times and the bad. Thank you Jesus, Amen!”

What now?

If you prayed that prayer and meant it then Jesus Christ has entered your life by his Holy Spirit, who now lives in you. Do not rely on how you feel but trust in Jesus’ sure promises. It is very important now to read the Bible each day, where you will find out more about the Christ who you are following. The Gospel of Luke is a good place to start. Also begin to pray, which is basically talking to God as you would to a friend; again, do so daily. These are the basics of Christianity – and the third key thing is to join a local Bible teaching church, it is important to be with like-minded people who can encourage you in your faith.
